Cruise along three great rivers through the heart of Holland and Germany. Begin in relaxed style in Amsterdam and explore the typical Dutch countryside then travel from Utrecht along the Rhine to the cathedral city of Cologne.

Enjoy the panoramic trip down the Upper Middle Rhine Valley with its breathtaking castles, past the famous Lorelei Rock to the medieval town of Oberwesel. Travel through the wine-growing region to Miltenberg and Wertheim then sail to the Bavarian city of Wurzburg. Join an optional tour of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bamberg then admire the engineering wonders of the Main-Danube Canal before an evening talk on board about this important waterway.

Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Amsterdam (Holland)

Fly from the UK and embark your ship in Amsterdam. Enjoy a welcome cocktail with fellow guests before dinner this evening.
Day 2 Amsterdam - Utrecht

This morning there is the option to explore Amsterdam on a city tour, followed by a canal trip to enjoy the most famous sights of the 'Venice of the North'. The excursion continues by coach through the Dutch countryside to visit a local cheese farm. Alternatively, choose to explore the art, history and culture of the Dutch on a tour of Haarlem, including a visit to the Cathedral of St. Bavo. Rejoin the ship in Utrecht for lunch and set sail for Cologne.
Day 3 Cologne (Germany)

This morning, arrive in Cologne. Join the optional walking tour around the historic Old Town and iconic twin-spired cathedral in the morning. Later, perhaps learn about flora and fauna on a trip to the beautiful Siebengebirge National Park, which includes a visit to Drachenfels Castle. Or find out more about the fascinating 500-year history of chocolate at the Cologne Chocolate Museum.
Day 4 Rudesheim

Enjoy scenic cruising through the picturesque Upper Middle Rhine Valley past the famous Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Rudesheim for an optional walking tour with a visit to the Music Cabinet Museum. Or take, instead, a tram ride through the vineyards on the 'Wine Express' and stroll along the quaint 'Drosselgasse'.
Day 5 Miltenberg - Wertheim

Miltenberg is the first stop today - join the optional guided tour around the medieval town then explore neighbouring Wertheim's half-timbered houses and glass museum.
Day 6 Wurzburg

The scenery around the Bavarian city of Wurzburg suggests its wine-growing influences, so why not join the optional walking tour of the city followed by a wine tasting. After lunch there is the optional excursion to Rothenburg ob der Tauber and its perfectly preserved historic town centre. Enjoy the Captain's Gala Dinner on board tonight.
Day 7 Bamberg

Relax on board this morning and enjoy the beautiful views as the ship drifts along the river to Bamberg. In the afternoon take the optional walking tour of the UNESCO World Heritage city whose highlights include the New Residence, the unique Town Hall built on a bridge and the Imperial Cathedral. Afterwards the ship travels through the Main-Danube canal and there is an evening talk about this important waterway.
Day 8 Nuremberg - UK

Disembark your ship after breakfast and transfer to the airport for the return flight to the UK.
